The KCRA 3 A-List, powered by CityVoter, continues to grow through user-generated content from local businesses, consumers, and viewers who vote for their favorite local spots
SACRAMENTO, Calif.—May 6, 2008—KCRA 3 announces the winners of the 2008 KCRA 3 A-List, powered by CityVoter, the second-annual competition in which thousands of locals vote online at www.kcra.com/alist for their favorite businesses. Now in its second year, the KCRA 3 A-List has grown to 2,900 local businesses, a 53 percent increase over the first year, rapidly becoming the premier destination for local information, featuring descriptions, photos, maps, and customer comments on Sacramento’s top local businesses.
“The KCRA 3 A-List has proven to be a valuable online information resource for our Sacramento area viewers,” said Elliott Troshinsky, president and general manager of KCRA 3. “This online guide has grown organically through the active participation of local businesses and the local customers who support them through nominations, votes, and comments.”
The KCRA 3 A-List provides local businesses with a platform to easily create, manage, and promote their own web content and gives consumers the power to choose the best businesses and post comments, photos, and more. Continuing in year two, the KCRA 3 A-List has proven to be an increasingly effective promotional tool for local Sacramento businesses and an ever more valuable information resource for consumers, as the guide’s content is progressively enriched through the ongoing contributions of locals.
“It’s exciting to see the KCRA 3 A-List, powered by CityVoter, take hold in Sacramento,” comments Josh Walker, chief executive officer, CityVoter, Inc. “The level of participation by local businesses and consumers indicates that KCRA 3 has successfully established itself as the local authority on what locals like best about their city.”
During the eight-week-long contest, the KCRA 3 A-List has added over 900 new listings, currently featuring information, photos, and reviews on over 2,900 local businesses. The contest drew roughly 120,000 votes for more than 120 categories such as Burger, Day Spa, Pet Sitting, Motorcycle Shop, Sushi, Art Museum, and Live Music Venue. The complete list of 2008 winners of the KCRA 3 A-List is posted online at www.kcra.com/alist.
