WDIV LOCAL 4 AND CLICKONDETROIT LAUNCH THE 2008 WDIV “4 THE BEST” GUIDE, Powered by CityVoter
Interactive Online Shopping Guide Kicks Off with Second Annual Contest Inviting Viewers to Vote for DETROIT’S Best Local Businesses

Detroit, MI—June 30, 2008— WDIV Local 4 will officially launch the second year of our innovative and interactive web initiative on July 7, 2008 on ClickOnDetroit.com. The “4 The Best” guide is unlike any project in the Detroit market, featuring the “Best Of” Detroit as voted on by local viewers. It all kicks off with the “Vote 4 The Best” contest, powered by CityVoter. During the “Vote 4 The Best” competition, people can logon to clickondetroit.com/4thebest to nominate and vote for their favorite businesses. They can also share photos, comments, and more.

The 2007 “Vote 4 The Best” competition was a huge success. The contest drew more than 160,000 votes and over 70,000 reviews were posted for local businesses in categories as varied as Day Spa, Cheap Eats, Sushi, Pilates Studio, Wine Bar, Florist, and Live Music Venue.

The “4 The Best” guide is a premier shopping destination for descriptions, photos, maps, and real-life customer comments on top local businesses. The “4 The Best” guide gives local businesses a platform to easily create, manage, and promote their own web content and gives consumers the power to choose the best businesses and post comments, photos, and more.

The “4 The Best” guide offers local businesses a free, dynamic online presence and easy-to-use tools to manage their listings, saving them time and money, and connecting them with customers. The guide is available all year and offers reviews and photos posted by customers, enhancing the value of a local business listing—both for the business and for those searching for detailed information about metro Detroit’s top local businesses.
This successful partnership has brought back The Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau as the campaign’s title sponsor.

“We have enjoyed watching the “4 The Best” guide grow over the last year,” said Neil Goldstein, Local 4 Vice President of Marketing and Digital Development. “The number of featured businesses has almost tripled since we launched in 2007. With its photos, comments, details, offers, and giveaways from our local business community, the “4 The Best” guide is a fun, interactive way to discover the best of metro Detroit… and it’s great shopping resource!”

“Based on the tremendous response in 2007, we anticipate another outstanding year for the “4 the Best” guide,” said CityVoter CEO Josh Walker. “We are eager to watch the guide continue to grow and enhance the value of this premier online destination for local information in Detroit.”
